Diamond House Lobby
As architect for the extensive interior and exterior renovation, we were also requested to redesign the lobby and building entrance. Part of our design solution was to provide a signature marquee to make the landscaped front entry court more inviting. Located a few steps down from street level, the new lobby required ADA compliance, and as part of the redesign, a handicap lift was provided. The use of glass and steel for the marquee allows for maximum daylight to the building entry; the interior floor stone used in the lobby was also used at the exterior steps and sidewalk to provide a unique entry experience. The program for the lobby included the provision of a large package room, which is discreetly concealed and secure behind the translucent screen which forms a backdrop for the wood paneled lobby walls.
