Only 1.5 hours away from the city, Storm King is a 500-acre open air museum, with large-scale contemporary sculptures and installations scattered across vast grassy fields and knolls.

 

Our wines, cheeses and blankets spread out among many pairs of hands, walking shoes on, we took the bus up to enjoy a day of exploring and laying about in the shade for our annual firm picnic

The lightly maintained landscape looks just wild and untouched enough that sometimes, upon happening upon one of the sculptural behemoths, you are left with the impression that they are relics left behind by a previous civilization, rather than installations planned for by an art foundation.
